Hi - I'm Nancy. Graphic designer, illustrator, and the person who built this because I got tired of tools that didn't fit the way I work.
I've been freelancing as a graphic designer and illustrator since 2008. For most of that time I managed my business the way most of us do: a mix of spreadsheets, sticky notes, and hoping I hadn't forgotten anything before tax season.
Why I built this
I used other tools for years. They weren't too complicated - they just had features built in that I didn't need, and the monthly subscription had become more than I could justify. I stayed longer than I should have because I'd invested so much time and content into them. That sunk-cost feeling is real.
But technology has changed, and I finally had the opportunity to build my own solution. I was able to draw on everything I know - graphic design, technical writing, usability, layout, language, and learning - and build something that fits the way I actually work.
That's also why I built in the Learning & Licences section. Professional development is part of running a freelance business, and it deserves a proper home.

What I'm working on next
I'm married to a realtor from a family of realtors, so I know firsthand how differently their business works - commission income, listing expenses, client gifting, referral fees, and a pace that doesn't follow a typical freelance rhythm. I'm building a purpose-built solution for them next. Simple, but powerful.
And honestly? Who knew I would love product and app development and design as much as I do. It's addictive. There will be more.
